Dorm Palette: What will you choose?

sky blue = certain

First year on campus your dorm will become your safe haven.  A place for you to chat quietly with your new roommate, take a peaceful nap in-between classes, crack the books and get down to business, possibly even plan a wild theme party that everyone will for sure remember (just make sure the party isn’t so wild that you get yourself kicked out of the dorm). So it’s important that you set the appropriate mood for your dorm by choosing a color palette that achieves your desired goal.  Since residence halls, majority of the time, don’t allow walls to be painted you have to resort to the different accents to achieve the desired mood.  Some of the accents include wall art, bedding, storage units, futons, lighting etc.  What kind of mood do you want to have in your room?

molten lava = energetic

Will you want your dorm room to be relaxed for napping and hanging with your friends? Then choose a palette that includes Lily Green. This comforter will get you started…

Or do you do want your room to be attentive for those late night study sessions? If so then choose a palette that includes Champagne Beige.  A comforter this color will be a nice touch…

Maybe you are looking for your dorm room to make you feel

certain about the decisions that you are making. If that is what you are going for try including Sky Blue into your palette with a comforter like this…

What about making your room daring or energetic, perfect for the party you are going to throw first weekend on campus? Try adding Molten Lava or Chili Pepper to your palette with these bed sheets or this duvet…

Your dorm room will be what you make of it.  Do a little research and find the color that you think with work best to set
