Last day of classes coming up? How about the end of finals? Even... graduation?
Chances are, with any of these momentous occasions on the horizon, there will be a lot of er... enthusiastic partying throughout the evening. Take a break from the rowdier events and relax with friends with a low-key end of the year party for you and your girlfriends!
Make it a brunch or midday event - late enough so you might have recovered from the night before - and instead of spending money on tons of alcohol for you and your guests, instead, snag some snacks and a bottle of champagne and prepare to celebrate.
If the weather and the college permits, find an outdoor location for your party and enjoy the sun as well as the end of classes!
Food
You can get creative here or stick with basics such as fruit, cheese and crackers. It's hard to resist brie and stone crackers, especially when served with strawberries and raspberries.
If you're looking for something a little less savory and a bit more sweet, you can bake or buy cookies or cupcakes. Both of these options are easier than a cake because you don't need to worry about serving your guests throughout the party.
Drinks
If you've been having a crazy week of celebration already, consider something to keep your guests hydrated. Fancy vitamin waters or sparkling water will help rehydrate you and your friends.
If, however, this is the start of your celebration and you're looking for something a bit more, you can try the classic Mimosas which includes Orange Juice and Champagne or mix it up with some other additions to your OJ. Try Orange Juice and Pomegranate or Raspberry Schnapps, or for something a little sweeter and less fruity, how about ginger ale and Vanilla Vodka?
Remember, for an event earlier in the day, it's less about the drinks and more about spending time with friends, some tasty food, and celebrating the end of the year.
Music
While you can choose just about anything for your party music, you should definitely try to keep the songs upbeat and happy - this is a celebration after all! If you have some time on your hands, consider making a mix CD where each song represents one of your friends. Throughout the party, try to have your guests figure out which song is whose!
