Is it Safe to Eat?

College students tend to be a bit lax about expiration dates. And who can blame them? With limited dining hall options, it's understandable that they might overlook the fact that their milk expired three days ago, or their ranch dressing might be from last year. But there are some things in your fridge that just might be better off in the garbage unless you want to risk food poisoning.

That's where the Table of Condiments (That Periodically Go Bad) comes in. The 75 elements on the Table of Condiments, which range from mayonnaise to taco sauce, are all listed with the amount of time before they go bad. Did you know that ketchup is good for up to five months but whipped cream is only good for two weeks?

There are some pretty nasty bugs you can get from eating expired or rotten food and with all of the other things in college that compromise your health, there's no reason to expose yourself to unhealthy food as well. Consider printing out the Table of Condiments and taping it to your refrigerator. It doesn't matter how delicious that guacamole looks... if it's more than two days old, it's better to skip the snack and just make some more.
