Country Boys and Girls Getting Down on the Farm

Nothing can be easier than a straight-forward, no frills Cowboy and Cowgirl party in your dorm room. With some blaring country music, you've already got the ambiance. All you need are a few cowboy hats, some steel-tipped boots and some icy cold ones.

Of course, there are plenty of things you can do to dress up the basic cowboy party, starting with some decorations. Using construction paper, or supplies you can buy at most party stores, cut out some green cacti, silver sheriff's badges, and a giant black "Bar 777" sign to put over the entry way to the room. You can also buy bandannas and drape them around the room for a great western feel at very little cost.

Food is simple with a tex-mex theme. Grab some large bags of tortilla chips and salsa if you want to keep things simple, or start your party early and have a campfire-style BBQ outside for that great barbecue flavor. For drinks, nothing refreshes a cowboy after a long day than an icy cold beer but for the gritty rangers among you, consider some whiskey based drinks or, if you have a blender and ice on hand, mix up some margaritas for the cowgirls in the crowd.

Music is simple this time around, but below, you can check out the chart-topping country songs that are available instantly through iTunes:

To really make the party great, ask your guests to come in cowboy and cowgirl garb, complete with hats and boots. Got some extra money to spend, or hosting this event for a large group? Contact your local party store and see if you can rent a mechanical bull for the evening to really make this a party to remember.
